A Victorian sterling silver table service of flatware / canteen, the majority London 1838/43 by William Eaton, most overstruck by Benjamin Smith Fiddle and Thread pattern, double struck, each engraved with a crest of a wyvern. Comprising: 18 table forks (Six London 1843 by Benjamin Smith, Six London 1838 and six London 1843 by William Eaton) 6 tablespoons (London 1843 by Benjamin Smith) 12 dessert forks (ten London 1838 by Benjamin Smith, two unmarked) 12 dessert spoons (eight London 1838 by Benjamin Smith, three London 1843 by Eaton, one 1843 by Smith) 12 teaspoons, (six London 1836 by William Eaton, six London 1839 by Benjamin Smith) 2 sauce ladles (London 1843 by Benjamin Smith Also, to include, crested the same: A pair of sauce ladles, Old English Thread pattern, London 1789 by Richard Crossley and George Smith) 3 Fiddle pattern salt spoon (two London 1843 by George Adams, one London 1830 by William Theobald) (69) Weight – 4215 grams / 135.52 ozt The crest is for Baker For Henry Baker (1803-1878) who married Caroline Matilda Delauney (1809-1895) on the 24th June 1837 Son of Robert Baker (1762-1840) and Harriet Aufrere (1765-1845) His grave: Architect, F.R.I.B.A., district surveyor of the parish of St. Pancras for 57 years.
