A rare early George III sterling silver mustard pot, London 1760 by John Jacob (reg. 20th June 1739) Of cylindrical ‘drum’ form, the hinged disc lid with incised concentric circles raised by scroll thumbpiece leading to a C scroll handle. Spoon aperture cut to front of pot, the lid engraved with a crest of a falcon carrying an ear of wheat. Fitted with a removable blue glass liner. Fully marked underneath and with makers mark and lion passant to lid only. Length – 10 cm / 4 inches Weight – 152 grams / 4.89 ozt
