定窑素以精美的白瓷著称于世，自晚唐至宋代，白釉一直是其最主要的品种。由于瓷质精良，釉色洁净，纹饰秀美，一度被选为宫廷用瓷。此壶外翻唇口，直颈、折肩、长圆形扁腹，肩、下腹各安放穿带孔两个，大圈足。双肩及下腹各对称置两桥形系，上下系之间又各两条竖向凸棱，中间形成沟槽，是为穿入绳索或皮带之用，便于在身上或马上携带奶、酒和水等液体饮料。通体施白釉，胎体细白，釉层匀净，此器制作规整，形制浑厚稳重，胎体洁白细润，是定窑白瓷精品，表现出鲜明的游牧民族特征，既有很高的历史研究价值，也有极高的收藏价值。
