Flat plate, Sevres, France, year letter for 1758, painter's signature for Vande pére (gilder and flower painter 1753-17799, plate from a service described as 'fond bleu céleste, Marguerites barbeaux et Roses' presented by Luis XV as King of France to Archduke Ferdinand of Austria. Ferdinand Charles Antony was married to Maria Beatrice d'Este and brother of Marie-Antoinette. The couple visited Paris from 11 May 1786 to 18 August 1786 and received the service as a gift for this occasion.
