Soup plate from the service for the Grand Duke Georg Friedrich von Mecklenburg-Strelitz (1799-1860), KPM Berlin, c. 1832 - 37, red imperial orb mark, 1st choice, painter's mark, model 1054, antique smooth. Around the flag strelitzia tendril on imitation lapis lazuli. In the mirror the coat of arms of Mecklenburg-Strelitz flanked by a bull and a griffin, framed by the chain of the black order of the eagle, crowned by a purple underlaid bow crown, underneath oak leaves and virtue written on a blue ribbon: ''THIEVE RIGHT AND BEWARE OF NO ONE.'', Ø 24 cm, Literature Cf. Köllmann/Jarchow, Berliner Porzellan, vol. II., Munich 1987, No. 328, p. 470. The Grand Duke Georg Friedrich of Mecklenburg-Strelitz was married to Marie Landgravine of Hesse-Kassel and brother of Marie Luise of Prussia. The flower Strelitzie was named after Charlotte Sophia Princess of Mecklenburg-Strelitz (1744-1818).
