Japan. Meiji period. Makuzu K?zan (1842-1916). Condition Porcelain with relief and three dimensional work, painted with overglaze colors and gold. A singing bird in the berries of the nandina plant. The ground is depicted by an applied sandy structure, with finely painted grass orchids. On the back a second songbird. H.41cm. Underneath in a double ring: Makuzu K?zan z?. Part of an inventory sticker: Worchester Royal Procelain Museum no. 8207. Condition C. Smaller chips.Provenance:-Private collection Northern Germany, acquired since the 1850s.
