Otto Gutfreund (1889-1927), after. ''Pri toalete'' (Morning toilet). Bronze, dark patinated. Monogrammed ''G''. Posthumous, contemporary casting (late 20th/early 21st century) after the bronze created in 1911. Gutfreund belonged to the most important sculptors of Czech cubism. After first studying sculpture in Prague from 1906 to 1909, Gutfreund went to Paris in 1909, where he studied with Antoine Bourdelle at the Académie de la Grande Chaumière in 1909/10 and met Auguste Rodin. In 1911/12 he created his first independent Cubo-Expressionist sculptures and sculptures in Prague; in 1913/14 Gutfreund also applied the principles of analytical Cubism, and in 1913 he took part in the legendary exhibition ''Erster Deutscher Herbstsalon'' at the gallery ''Der Sturm'' in Berlin.
