I, 8vo, for J. Walker et al., 1812. On the bookplate, we see the Courtenay Morland coat of arms with an eagle perched atop the shield, a rampant lion and three balls all taken from the two family crests. William Courtenay Morland (1818 - 1909) was the son of Charles Morland and Lady Caroline Eustatia Courtenay (1775-1851), daughter of Viscount William Courtenay, 8th Earl of Devon. Courtenay Morland inherited Court Lodge Estate in Lamberhurst, Kent after the death of his Uncle. Marrying Margaretta Eliza Cator in 1843, he had two son's Charles and Henry. Nowadays, Court Lodge continues in the hands of the Morland family, as a luxurious countryside estate with holiday cottages.Dimensions the binding 21cm x 13.3cm
