The vase of double gourd form, with bird and flower panels against a blue ground covered in flowers and scrolling foliage, four character Xuande mark to the base, the zhadou with a dark blue ground reserved with lotus scroll, bats and shou characters, four character Tongzhi mark to the base, the bowl with landscape panels set against a salmon-red ground embellished with floral scroll in gilt, six character Qianlong mark in underglaze blue to base, two with wood stands, 17.7cm diameter (bowl), 10 – 24cm H. (5) Provenance: from the collection of Dame Marie Tempest (1864 – 1942), thence by descent to the present owner.
