题识：十月江南寒山晚。启功画。 钤印：启功之印
《十月江南寒山晚》约作于1940年代，以正统派的文人画风格出之，山体施以长披麻皴，进而加入密集的横点子皴，融董源、倪瓒于一炉，但此帧不追求冷寂与距离感，而是以相对紧凑的构图再现深秋时节的清旷。掩映于山水间的小艇、高士，与成列的飞鸟共同形成画眼，通幅显露出醇厚高古的雅致气息。
