瓶玉壶春形，造型优雅端庄，敞口细颈，垂腹圈足，挺拔修长，温文尔雅，如美人伫立，别具风姿。通身光素无纹，仅以纯白釉装饰，白玉釉色有如初凝玉脂，温润可人。玉壶春瓶的造型是由唐代寺院里的净水瓶演变而来的，彼时用作酒具，后逐渐演变为陈设瓷；而其名称的由来应该是从宋代诗人的诗句中得来的，其中“玉壶先春”、“玉壶买春”的描述，把这一造型赋予诗意，使人浮想联翩，爱不释手。
