Pair of corner pieces, Louis XVI style; Holland, ca. 1780. Mahogany, lemonwood and ebony. Presents remains of polychrome in the interior. Measurements: 87 x 76 x 42 cm. Pair of corner pieces made of mahogany wood with an identical structure and ornamental design. Each one of the pieces is supported by three bracket-like legs, each one located at the ends of the triangular base. The two front legs are decorated with a combination of a geometric pattern that runs around the perimeter as a band, and in the center a figurative drawing that is described by the representation of a violin on the outside of the leg, and a trumpet on the inside. The legs lead to a base composed of a flat structure, warped in the central area of the body, and decorated with a fretwork in which a black band typical of ebony is rhythmically repeated next to a shaped wooden one. The central body is structured with a door that allows to see the interior structured as a shelf with two spaces. The door is profusely decorated with a combination of intricate geometric motifs, elements typical of classicist decoration and musical figurative motifs. Finally, each corner repeats the design of the base for the edge of the panel, and on the upper panel, adapted to the curved forms on one of its sides, the image of a musical still life can be seen. Dimensions 87 x 76 x 42 cm.
