A good pair of early Victorian silver wine coasters by Joseph and John Angell, London, 1839 Shaped ribbed rims embellished with scrolls and foliage, sides chased with flowers and acanthus leaves, silver interiors flat-chased with flowers and scrolls around central coat of arms displaying an eagle displayed with coronet above on a horizontally divided shield with lion supporters standing on branches in saltyr, the whole surmounted by a crown, the shield heraldically tinctured or above argent, the eagle displayed in sable below a coronet argent, bases with wood insets covered in red leather, 4.9cm high, 16.3cm diameter.
