药师佛被藏传佛教尊为“药师天尊八圣佛”，能随病设药，以妙药灭除众生心身病痛，能令一切有情脱离疾病，除灭一切病痛。 此尊药师佛造像姿态独特，背衬佛光，螺发排列规整，塔形肉髻高隆，宝珠顶严双耳垂肩，慈眉微弯，低垂下视，嘴角上扬，略含笑意，神态怡然。身着右袒式袈裟，衣纹起伏凸显，转折流畅自然，全跏趺坐于莲台之上。药师佛四肢肌肉饱满，指掌刻划柔软生动，富有写实性和生命力。其左手结禅定印，捧药钵一只（已佚），钵内充满甘露；右手结与愿印，即手臂自然下垂，手心向外，拇指和食指拈一棵药草。几何形底座托起莲台。固封装藏保存完好。
