盘敞口，弧壁，圈足，胎体厚实，器形规整。内外通施祭红釉，色泽纯正，釉光亮丽。祭红釉为明清两代颜色釉中的大宗门类，据文献记载，作品多用于宫中祭祀。 祭红又名“霁红”，是明宣德时期创烧的著名红釉品种，其色似初凝的鸡血，深沉安定，莹润均匀，因祭红器作祭祀郊坛之用，故名。“祭红”烧造难度大，成品率很低，所以身价特高。古人在制作祭红瓷时，很名贵的原料如珊瑚、玛瑙、玉石、珍珠、黄金等都在所不惜。
