Dumfries contains documented furnishings by Chippendale as well as undocumented pieces that may have come from the same workshops. Features shared with this piece and those at Dumfries include the plain swan-neck handles, laminated blocks supporting the feet and the appearance of red wash to the rear panel and the underside (see Dumfries House: A Chippendale Commission, vol.
