A matched pair of elaborate bronze earrings for attachment to a statue, each with piriform body with bands of loop and pellet detailing, four leaf-shaped panels to the upper edge, hoop within. See The Metropolitan Museum of Art, accession number 1991.391.4, for similar; see The Victoria and Albert Museum, accession number IM.182-1929, for a stone statue of this period carved wearing similar (stone) earrings. 140 grams total, 66mm each (2 1/2"). From an important North West London collection; acquired in the late 1980s-early 1990s. [2] Condition Report Fine condition, one repaired.
