c.10th century BC. A large bronze elongated triangular arrowhead with rounded or angular raised midrib, sharp central groove, barbed shoulders and convex sides. Cf. Khorasani, M.M., Arms and Armour from Iran. The Bronze Age to the End of the Qajar Period, Tübingen, 2006, item 467, for type. 30 grams, 14cm (5 1/2"). Property of a London gallery; previously with a North London gallery; acquired on the UK art market in the 1980s. The arrowhead seems to belong to the category of triangular heads with rounded or triangular midrib, but subtype C, i.e. large triangular arrowheads with barbed shoulders.
