LUIGI FABRIS PORCELAIN HORSE-DRAWN CARRIAGEmodelled as carriage drawn by two white horses, the carriage featuring scenes of nude maidens with putti, with gilt foliate and floral accents against a deep forest green ground, the back featuring a crest resting on the wings of a gilt pair of birds, inside the coach sits a woman dressed in period clothing, a man in a yellow dress coat sits on the bench with the reins in this hands, all atop a wooden and gilt carved base,signed LaFabris with maker's mark in blue underglaze on crest; dimensions of porcelain: 99 x 24 cm (39 x 9 1/2 in.), dimensions of wooden base: 104 x 29 cm (41 x 11 3/8 in.)CONDITIONThe porcelain horse drawn carriage with overall surface dust and grime. Losses to the ornamental detailing to the carriage roof. Cracking visible to each horse, along their manes and backs. The reins and breeching dee are in fragile condition, one of the reins is no longer attached to the gentlemans hand. Inspection under UV light shows scattered retouching and repairs to around 40% of the horse drawn carriage. Retouching to one of the horses ears and face, the leading pole and right side of the stomach to one of the horses, retouching and repair visible to the carriage roof and ornamental decoration.
