His 1590 figure of Mars is in The Frick Collection, New York (Accession number: 1916.2.56). It stands with his feet on this cuirass, swept socle below. The plainer construction of this lot with the roundel bases suggests they may, like many examples of his work, been emulated and cast for use as andirons. See J.
