生於台灣，先後受李大木、吳學讓、黃磊生、歐豪年等名師教誨，1989年獲教育部文藝創作獎國畫類。1993年從吳平先生研習書畫篆刻。先後於香港、日本、馬來西亞、新加坡、中國、越南等地舉辦個展及聯展。
其作品畫科豐富，書風高古，尤其工筆、寫意並行不悖，相輔相成，更使陳永模的藝事創作海闊天空，且鑽研詩詞研究，以充實創作內涵，近年作品經常出現各地大型拍賣會場，極受藏家青睞。
