The author of this work, Heribert Casany, is a little-known artist, although in his time he was in contact with artists such as Rafael Benet, Lola Anglada and, especially, Joan Miró, who immortalised him in a famous portrait in 1918, also known as "El chófer" or "El hombre del bastón" (Kimbell Art Museum, Forth Worth, Texas). His peculiar life also made him became the main character of the novel "L'home del barret" (2019) by Berta Jardí, a descendant of the artist.
