Circa 400 700 AD. A fine Late Roman-early Byzantine gold pendant, modelled in open work technique, and featuring a discoid shape with a suspension loop to the top. The pendant displays an intricate decoration comprising of a linear border of twisted gold wires. The centre of the pendant comprised of a cross with five garnets.Size: L:37.3mm / W:33.7mm ; 9.03gProvenance: Central London private collection of Ancient Art and jewellery; acquired since the 1970s on the UK and European art markets.
