套料是以玻璃胎体作地子，在外层再烧制各种玻璃色料，雕琢花纹图案作纹饰，多为吉祥清玩题材，套料制品色彩艳丽，制作工艺较为复杂，根据存世的实物，见有多达七色以上的彩料器件。清代套料，在康熙年间已经出现，至乾隆朝时，达到最大规模。由于多色套料制品工艺，色料都需不同的金属或珠宝等调成色剂，成本颇高，价值不菲。
