probably Kangxi period, with square chop mark within double rings, low bowl with barbed rim, paneled border of aster flowers, the center further painted with four large asters against a swirl ground, wheel cut and black painted inventory number "N: 304.", 1-7/8 x 10-3/4 in. Provenance: Johanneum N: 304.; A.J. Broder, purchased June 12, 1995 for $1,400 (accompanied by hand written receipt); Estate of Virginia B. Story, North Wilkesboro, North Carolina Note: The Johanneum marks are inventory numbers inscribed on porcelain items belonging to the collection of August the Strong, King of Poland and Elector of Saxony (1694-1733).
