A large Japanese cloisonne vase decorated in the Chinese taste, Meiji eraOf bellied form with cylindrical neck and ogee rim, worked to the body with two wrythen dragons on a red ground above roiling waves and sea spray, the neck with stylised flowers and foliage on a black ground, the rim with scattered flowers, insects and mythical beasts, 61cm high (losses to enamel in places).Condition report: Small enamel losses to rim. Four large enamel chips to the neck, two of which have been filled. Several enamel losses to the lower shoulder with associated hairlines. Large and significant enamel losses to the underside.
