本品口微侈，鼓腹，圈足，胎骨坚硬洁白，胎质细腻。内壁光素施白釉，外壁珊瑚红地留白装饰，一为牡丹，一为莲花，花纹留白处以矾红线条勾勒花茎，描绘细致，格调秀雅；缠枝的花卉十分精巧，较之传统缠枝画法更显别致。此式碗是清代御窑传统品种，清宫档案中称之为“红地白竹碗”。 珊瑚红地留白技法始创于清雍正时期，在白釉上以红彩勾绘纹饰轮廓，后在轮廓外满填红彩，红白两色对比强烈，是清代独特的瓷艺品种，亦称盖雪红。清末陈浏在其所着《陶雅》中曾解释道：“涂以抹红之釉而需其中若为空白者，又似乎阴文之花纹，谓之盖雪。”
