A George V Silver-Gilt Cup and an Elizabeth II Silver-Gilt Cover, The Cup by Pairpoint Brothers, London, 1914, The Cover by C. J. Vander, London, 1956, in the George III style, tapering and on spreading foot, the lower body lobed, the rim with a band of fruiting grapevines on a matted ground, with two scroll handles, the detachable cover part-fluted and with foliage finial, on mahogany finish base, 23.5cm high including base, 16oz 12dwt, 517grCondition report: The cup marked near handle. The cover part marked on bezel. The marks on each are clear. There is some surface scratching and wear overall, consistent with age and e. The wear is noticeable as a softening to the gilding. There is a bruise to the stem so the cup leans slightly and another to the base which caes the cup to rock slightly when placed on a flat surface. There are some scratches to the plinth. The cover fits snuggly and was presumably made specifically for this cup.
