郎窯紅釉為康熙時仿明宣德寶石紅釉的品種，紅釉發色極艱，即便巧匠難成，窯出多有瑕疵，色正佳器寥寥，故宣德以後幾乎盡棄紅釉器燒造，郎廷極於康熙四十四年出任江西巡撫，督理景德鎮禦窯廠事務，嘗命重調明初釉色，複燒銅紅，濃若牛血殷妍者以其姓氏命名，謂之“郎窯紅”。拍品圓口直壁，下承圈足。胎體厚重，形體端莊規整。外壁通體施高溫銅紅釉，釉面現玻璃光澤，深沈斑駁，蒼鬱濃豔，具有典型的郎窯紅特徵。
