Long scroll of Dong Bangda's Songfeng in Qing Dynasty Details of items FrederickDShanhart(1895-1953) FrederickDShanhart came from lrondequoito in New York, where he went to college and found a love and passion for eastern art. < BR > After graduating in 1896, he took over a number of companies, eventually joining one that brought him to Japan. He took the opportunity to explore eastern art more deeply, but unfortunately this did not satisfy his wishes. Two years later, he was offered another job in China. Shanhart took the chance and left Japan. Soon, he went to China for the first time in 1915 and worked there for 16 years. His experience was incredible because he finally found the origins of Oriental antiques and art. During those years, Shanhart gained an in-depth understanding of Chinese culture, which led to a large collection of Chinese antiques. in 1931, FrederickDShanhart moved back to New York. After retirement, he finally had time to collect more antiques and Chinese art. He wanted to go back to China, but it was very unrealistic at that time. So he created an Oriental garden with a Chinese pagoda and occasionally invited guests to drink tea inside. "My grandfather's house was filled with antiques and Chinese art, and there was an Oriental garden that looked like an art gallery." < BR > In 1949, FrederickD.Shanhart died of complications from a stroke, ending his significant work. < BR > The FrederickD.Shanhart collection is divided into 55 batches, including 1, 3, 5, 8, 9, 10, 11, 16, 23, 30, 31, 32, 40, 41, 42, 45, 46, 47, 48, etc.
