A Chinese blue-ground kesi dragon robe dating from the early 19th century. The robe has nine dragons total, including one on an inner panel. The dragons are all chasing flaming pearls over a wave and rock motif. They are surrounded by bats and the eight Buddhist emblems. The embroidery utilizes gold thread. Dimensions are: 54 inches tall X 79 inches wide, 137.2 cm X 200.7 cm. All measurements are approximate. Condition: It is in overall poor condition with significant wear, many tears and loose threads, and fading. There are areas of repair throughout as well as additions. There is separation throughout along the seams of the textile. A reminder that all lots are sold as-is.
