The prototype may have derived from Han dynasty lacquer ware, but the chain handle is moremonly seen in bronze. pare the very similar bronze zun vessel with chain handle in the collection of the National Palace Museum, Taipei, illustrated in their 1958 two-volume publication Gugong tongqi tulu (Illustrated Catalogue of Bronzes in the National Palace Museum).
