After Sir Anthony van Dyck, Flemish 1599-1641- Portrait of Queen Henrietta Maria, quarter-length turned to the left; oil on canvas, impressed stamp 'FRs Leedham / Liner' (on the reverse of the centre of the upper vertical stretcher cross member), 50.6 x 45.5 cm. Provenance: Private Collection, UK. Note: After the original, largerpositions by Van Dyck in the Metropolitan Museum, New York [] and the full-length (extended) version by the artist which sold at Christie's, London, 9 December 2015, lot 28. Additional later copies of the originalposition exist and are housed at Eastnor Castle; in the collection of the Earl of Pembroke, at Wilton House; and in the National Portrait Gallery, London [NPG 277]. Francis Leedham (1794-1870) was the leading picture liner of his day, working in London between 1831 and 1858. As early as 1838, he was described as 'that ingenious artist Mr Francis Leedham' in the Christie's sale catalogue of the Northwick Collection.Please refer to department for condition report
