A Chinese bronze mirror with character on a bronze beast, dating from Ming dynasty (1368-1644). A sinuous beast reclines on its right side, head facing left over its body - it has a long curved horn in center of its head. Its back has a V-shaped slot for the circular mirror with Chinese characters. A nub in center of mirror has hole for a string. D:Beast: 7" (17.8 cm), Mirror: D. 3 1/4" (8.2 cm) collection of a private Brooklyn collector Condition: Beast in good condition overall for age and use. Mirror has some aging, discoloring, and oxidation.
