A Chinese painting on silk of a large and small deity, dating from the Qing dynasty. A large standing deity dressed in robes with a sword and a long hanging moustache gazes outwards. A smaller figure to the right in a blue robe holds aloft a vase with both hands that contains flowers. The background is neutral so the figures are prominent. Painted area: H. 68" (172.7 cm), W. 34 1/2" (8.6 cm) Condition: good condition overall for age and use. Aging to the painted surface.
