Both pieces have a similar format, although they differ in terms of the ornamentation, which varies slightly on each of the vases. The pieces are supported on a flat circular base, from which the body starts, widening its perimeter in the upper area, which is barely visible due to the profuse decoration, and the body has a rounded structure. This ends in an octagonal neck, on top of which is the lid with a flat, polygonal base, crowned by a semi-globular structure that ends in a drop-shaped finish that serves as a handle for the lid. The painted decoration is solely in blue, although the gradation of tones can be played with. The bodies have large cartouches with figurative scenes inside, dominated by flowers and birds.The Edo period is a historical period in Japan from 1603 to 1868. Two centuries in which Japan's trade with foreign powers developed. This activity led to cultural exchange and increased foreign interest in the country.
