He was also involved in engineering and shipbuilding. He designed railway posters for the North Eastern Railway (NER), Great Western Railway (GWR) and, as with the poster at hand, the London & North Eastern Railway (LNER). Here he has grouped the vessels to impress potential customers with their strength and chose a low vantage point to further emphasize their extreme mass.
