Ca. 1368-1644 AD A glazed earthenware statue of a Ming Dynasty rider, sitting atop a horse. The horseman is modelled in a naturalistic manner, wearing a navy garment, a red conical-shaped hat, and he holds a bucket in his right hand. His head is detachable. The animal with finely rendered face details and pale blue glazed mane stands on an integral, rectangular-shaped base. Size: L:270mm / W:210mm ; 1.4Kg Provenance: East Anglian private collection; formerly acquired in the early 1990s in Hong Kong.
