Globe, Arizona Chrysocolla has an attractive blue-green that provides a unique color to the gem world as it forms in the oxidation zones of copper rich ores. When chrysocolla "agatizes" in chalcedony quartz it is then called "gem silica chrysocolla", with the quartz component providing the stone its polish and durability. A classic American gemstone which is now rarely seen in the marketplace, this suite of sixty-six stones fashioned as oval cabochons have a brilliant, well-saturated color which has been beautifully matched and would have taken years to form such a collection.
