An unusual Chinese child's dragon robe, Qing Dynasty, circa 1900, couched with silver and gold thread on a blue silk gourd, eight Mang (four clawed) baby dragons decorate this robe, each chasing the pearl of wisdom among clouds bats and a musical instrument as the central motif, the water and waves pattern is couched with alternate silver and gold thread with a red overlay stitch, the sleeves are fully decorated down to a horse shoe shape cuff, lined with blue silk and edged with brocade and gold button fastening, 155cm sleeve to sleeve x 92cm collar to hem ?Provenance: From a private American collection formed in the 1980's and 1990's and sold with Christies lot ticket, September 18th, 1985, part lot 439?约清1900年 藏青地绣金龙纹童龙袍??
