A Japanese Satsuma Pottery Koro, of bulbous, quatre-lobed form resting on four shaped feet, the whole decorated in overglaze enamels and gilding with alternating panels of shishi and peonies on a ground of stylised sprigs with bands of lappets and kiku emblems, inscribed to the base beneath a Shimazu mon "Satsuma yaki Katsuaki (?)", height 10cms, Meiji PeriodCondition Report: This may have had a pierced cover originally although there is little sign of wear around the edge of the aperture at the top.
