A CASED SET OF FOUR GEORGE V SILVER MENU HOLDERS, by Sampson Mordan & Co, London 1915, with circular bases and backs, each applied with a bust of Elizabeth I. 3cm high, 3.45 troy ounces gross Provenance: Complete with a typed letter stating 'These menu holders were a wedding gift from Lieut. Frank Single, R.N. who was serving in the Queen Elizabeth and who later fell at the battle of Jutland while serving in the Warspite, to his cousin F.A. Single, M.C. Queen's Bays, (Bride's Uncle) who fell at the battle of Amiens March, 1918. They are presented by his window. Thus they pass from Navy to Army to Air Force, 1st July, 1950'
