For a further example see Christie's, Important English Furniture, Property from the collection of the late Sir Frederick Richmond Bt., 29th November 2001, Lot 260 (£14,100). The fine construction and distinctive features of this table are consistent with the output of Gillows. A closely related example of library table was supplied by Gillows to John Cust, 1st Earl of Brownlow (d.1853) for Belton House, Lincolnshire and Carlton House Terrace, London (subsequently sold Christie's, Belton House, 30th April-2nd May 1984, Lot 88).ϒ Indicates that this lot may be subject to CITES regulations when exported.
