朱耷，即八大山人，本名统，别号个山、人屋等，明宁王朱权后裔，江西南昌人。顺治五年削发为僧，法名传綮，字刃庵。康熙十四年十署款八大山人直到卒年，似“哭之”、“笑之”。擅画山水、花鸟 、竹木。花鸟学沈周、陈淳、徐渭，于静悟中自成一格。山水取法黄公望，颇受董其昌影响。对清代花鸟画影响极大，与石涛、弘仁、髡残合称“清初四僧”。
