此方觚应为明仿商周青铜器之典型，器分三段，广口外撇，自上而下敛收，腹部扁方，高圈足，通身四棱出戟，扉棱厚拙。通身纹饰均以云雷纹作底，腹部、高足饰兽面纹，颈部饰夔龙纹，口部饰仿古蕉叶纹。
此类摹古又融合以时代特征之物颇受文人雅士钟爱，诚为一时之精品，置于案头、增添古意，古雅之至。
