A Chinese blue and white vase dating from the Kangxi period featuring 2 figures in a landscape with a pine tree. Dimensions are: 9 inches tall X 4 1/2 inches wide, 22.86 cm X 11.43 cm. All measurements are approximate.

This pear-shaped vase type is also known as "pipa zun", which is characterized by its flaring mouth, long and thin neck, sinking body, and double stacked foot ring. Pipa zun is one of the Kangxi porcelain ware types, and it's quite rare. Under the rim, there is a ring of blue and white. On the neck there are two sets of bamboo painted without any preliminary sketch. Swaying in the wind, the bamboo have leaves sharp as swords and stems arched like bows, creating a graceful sight. On the body there is the illustration of a group of parading scholars. The illustration is in crisp blue, with well-arranged composition and smooth strokes. The rim of the foot ring is unglazed, exposing the firm ceramic paste, and showing a neat transition line between glazed to unglazed. The blue and white paint and the white glazed body complement each other. On the vase bottom there are a dozen deep small holes which expose the ceramic paste under the glazing. 清康熙 青花高仕琵琶尊

此器器型為琵琶尊，敞口，長頸，垂腹，束頸，二層臺足，型似琵琶，這是康熙瓷器品種之一，較為稀少。口下繪一圈青花，頸部以沒骨法繪製翠竹兩組，翠竹劍葉弓桿，呈風中搖曳之姿，頗具韻味。腹部繪以高仕巡遊圖。青花發色翠藍濃艷，層次分明，釉面瑩潤，運筆流暢生動。足底露胎處可見胎體堅實白糯，胎釉結合緊密，與青花翠藍之色互為映襯，相得益彰， 底部有棕眼，小而深，可見胎骨，具有清康熙朝時期的典型時代特征。
