A 17thC Antwerp cabinet-on-stand, with secret drawers, H 163 ñ W 97 ñ D 48 cmA 17thC Antwerp ebony and ebonised wooden, tortoiseshell, ivory and rosewood veneered cabinet-on-stand. The pair of doors enclose an arrangement of eight drawers and two secret drawers, with a central architectural arched door below a broken pediment flanked by columns, highlighted with fresh-water pearls. The fronts of six drawers have silvered plaques decorated with 'Fructus belli' scenery. The reverse of the cupboard doors is similarly decorated with ditto silvered plaques.The central door encloses a fitted arcaded interior with mirrors and ivory and bone architectural details, and an ivory and rosewood inlaid floor. The bottom drawer to the right covers an ink signature 'H.
