A LACQUERED IRON KABUTO AND MENPO, EDO PERIODJapan, Edo period (1615-1868). A shii-nari (acorn-shaped) kabuto, with triangular plates, overall covered in maroon hued lacquer. The bowl fitted with a five-tiered lacquered shikoro, laced in blue and secured by metal chrysanthemum rivets. With a maroon lacquered menpo with a four-lame yodarekake lacquered in black and laced in blue and white.Provenance: Czech private collection.Condition: Worn condition with crackling, chips, and losses to the lacquer coat.Weight: 2,072 gDimensions: Height 23 cm
