A LACQUERED IRON KABUTO AND MENPO, EDO PERIODJapan, Edo period (1615-1868). A shii-nari (acorn-shaped) kabuto, with triangular plates, overall covered in maroon hued lacquer. The bowl fitted with a five-tiered lacquered shikoro, laced in blue and secured by metal chrysanthemum rivets.
