A LARGE PAINTED POTTERY FIGURE OF A COURT-LADY, HAN DYNASTYChina, Han dynasty (206 BC-220 AD). The lady is shown standing with her hands concealed in her wide sleeves, falling in voluminous folds, the robe flaring at the base, painted in red, orange and white pigments with black details. The separate head with delicate red lips, the face framed by black hair. The head and hands with apertures, originally for attaching accessories.Provenance: Dr. Mons Fischer private collection. Being a seasoned private collector of modern and contemporary art, Dr. Mons Fischer has acquired fine Chinese works of art since the 1980s, eventually building one of the most important collections of its kind in Austria.Condition: Overall presenting well, and commensurate with age, as expected from Han dynasty excavations.
