A PAIR OF 'EIGHT HORSES OF MUWANG' SILK SLEEVE BANDS, LATE QING DYNASTYChina, Qing dynasty (1644-1912), 19th century. Finely embroidered in Beijing knot and satin stitch, with gold threads on a pale blue silk ground, decorated with the eight horses of Muwang, four on each sleeve, in various poses, playing, reclining, or grazing. The reverse signed and with a seal mark.Provenance: Austrian private collection.Condition: Very good condition with minor wear, loose threads, and staining.Dimensions: Size ca. 83 x 12.5 cm (each)
